Students build shelter for residents

Chichester College students have nearly finished building a bus shelter for Graylingwell Park. It will be ready and installed in September ready for the winter months.

Residents approached to CCDT about the need for a bus shelter and we have been working in partnership with Chichester College to make it happen in a way that develops the skills and CVs of local students.

The story so far…the students put their heads together and drew out three designs for the residents to chose from. Local people picked the style they thought was the most appropriate and the students are now constructing the shelter from wood using materials paid for by Linden Homes.

This is a good example of our work as the community anchor here in Chichester, listening to residents, linking organisations, and finding creative solutions that create opportunities and boost skills.
