Up-cycling could not be a better word to describe the latest exciting project CCDT is developing – the Chichester Bike Project, that will get underway at their next community space to be transferred to the Trust later this summer.
Inspired by other fantastic models, such as the Bristol Bike Project, the team will be building a scheme to take in redundant bikes and work with community groups to revive them into usable models that can be potentially bought, hired or even earned through volunteering.
Still in its developmental stage, the Chichester Bike Project will be developed in partnership with individuals and organisations across the city that are passionate about improving this greener mode of transport. Also with those working with often overlooked groups to upskill individuals in bike maintenance, restoration and mechanics, including young people, those who are feeling socially isolated, and those that have fallen out of training, employment and education.
If you would like to find out more about the project, get involved or simply share your ideas, inspiration or enthusiasm then we would love to hear from you. Please do get in touch by emailing the team at partnerships@chichestercdt.org.uk.
