Those following the voyage of Graylingwell Chapel’s beautiful organ will be delighted to see these latest images sent from Jugon, in France, where it is being meticulously reconstructed by a team of devoted carers for the instrument.
With the organ falling into disrepair, and unused in its setting, CCDT invited those in search of such a beautiful and historic instrument to dismantle and reassemble it somewhere it would be heard and enjoyed. The pictures below show the astonishing complexity of rebuilding such a wonderful instrument. Halted for many weeks due to lockown, the 11-strong team are surging forward, drawing ever nearer to hearing the notes ring out once more.
We promise to provide more images as they are sent through from Yann Drezet and his team.
