Havenstoke Park: A Year of Progress and Growth

As 2024 ends, we wanted to reflect on the significant achievements and progress we have made together at Havenstoke Park. This year has been filled with milestones that have transformed our community and enhanced the Park for everyone to enjoy.

18 New Trees Planted

One of our proudest accomplishments this year was planting 18 beautiful trees across Havenstoke Park. These trees are a symbol of our commitment to sustainability and will contribute to cleaner air, provide shade, and support local wildlife for years to come.

Welcoming a Park Friend Co-ordinator

This year, we laid the groundwork to enhance community engagement by hiring a Park Friend Coordinator, Susan, who will officially begin on 4 January. Their role will be pivotal in bringing people together to improve the Park, enriching everyone’s experience at Havenstoke Park. To find out when you can meet Susan and get involved, please email community@chichestercdt.org.uk.

Football Pitches Underway

2024 saw the start of the much-anticipated football pitches. This marks a major step forward in creating more recreational facilities for our residents, and we are eager to see the pitches come to life in 2025.

Recreating the Wild Corridor

The Wild Space shelter was removed this year. The area is now being left to grow over naturally, creating a peaceful environment that supports biodiversity and provides a tranquil escape for wildlife.

Play Park Success

The Play Park continued to shine as a favourite community spot this year, every Saturday from 10am. It’s been heartwarming to see families gathering, playing, and creating memories together. If you and your family would like to join in the fun, please register here: https://park-play.com/parks/chichester/

Growth of the Graylingwell Girls

Our community’s Graylingwell Girls football team has grown significantly in 2024. Now training on Saturday and Sunday mornings, this team exemplifies the power of community and teamwork. We’re proud of their incredible progress and achievements and look forward to them continuing to flourish in 2025! If you know any footballers who would like to join the Graylingwell Girls team, please visit https://graylingwellgirls.com for more information.

Maintaining Our Green Spaces

Regular grass cutting of Havenstoke Park’s continues throughout the year, adhering to Chichester District Council’s plan for the Park to maintain a meadow area to support biodiversity and contribute to a rich ecosystem. We hope the residents of Graylingwell Park and beyond can continue to enjoy this space.

Unique Sauna Pop-Ups

This year, Havenstoke Park welcomed a unique wellness experience with a mobile sauna visiting twice. One session was held on the green outside the studio, and another in the layby. These events added a touch of relaxation and novelty to our community activities. For more details, please contact: hello@thepavilionchichester.com.

Enhancing Safety

To improve safety and manage access, we continued to repair and maintain the bollards around the park, installing new ones as required, ensuring safer pathways for pedestrians and cyclists.

Thank You for a Wonderful Year

Havenstoke Park’s progress this year wouldn’t have been possible without the support and enthusiasm of our community. Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to continuing to grow and thrive together in the years to come!
