After careful deliberation, Chichester Community Development Trust is pleased to announce that Adam Richards Architects has been selected as the architect for the first phase of the development work of Graylingwell Chapel.
Graylingwell Chapel is an important local building with a rich history as part of the former Graylingwell Hospital. It is in need of repair and restoration and is set to become an important community hub for the communities around Graylingwell Park and into Chichester.
Many different ideas came out of the public consultations on Graylingwell Chapel. Adam Richards Architects will now work with the project organiser and the Graylingwell Chapel Steering Group to develop concept architectural plans for Graylingwell Chapel that meet the needs of the local community and uphold the ideal that the chapel should be both conserved and respected, as well as developed to maximise its potential as a thriving community asset.
Adam Richards Architects, a London-based firm, has previously worked locally at West Dean College and Ditchling Museum of Art and Craft, as well as working on other church and chapel renovations.

Chichester Community Development Trust was awarded a grant of a £14,800 fund from the Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF). This grant is funding Graylingwell Chapel’s start up work including a project organiser and the creation of architectural plans by Adam Richards Architects.
