Update on Summer Garden Party

With less than three weeks to go we thought you might like an update on what’s happening this year at the Summer Garden Party at Graylingwell Park.

We are really excited because the event is nearly double the size of last year in the number of stalls and attractions available. Additionally, we have more sponsorship so more is being offered free.

But perhaps best of all, we feel we are supporting and showcasing local enterprise with 10 local businesses involved.  This supports our value of ‘enterprise for all’ because we think enterprise is the best way to transform lives.  We want to support entrepreneurial ventures.

Summer Garden Party at Graylingwell Park, 9 July, 12 – 4pm.

The Summer Garden Party at Graylingwell Park is a fantastic summer event that is guaranteed to make you smile!  It is just one of those events with fantastic feel-good factor that leaves you loving life, community and Chichester.  This year, there are even more free activities for the family… and whilst the kids are busy there are also fantastic shopping opportunities.

The Kids’ Village is sponsored by Jo Jo Maman Bébé so everything is free!  This includes the bouncy castle, tractor rides, bouncy slide, sumo suit wrestling, pogo gladiator game, face painting, sports and play games, crafts, Monkey Music as well as the visit from a famous children’s TV character we keep hinting about!   That really is the kids sorted.

In the Arcade, you’ll find classics such as the crockery smash, runaway train, coconut shy!  Bring your change and support the scouts and Chichester Community Development Trust!

There is also the Market which hosts local small businesses selling their goodies… so a great place for a browse! You’ll find a cross section of things from homewares and gifts to wine tasting and watercolour painting!

Sitting by the Arena, you will be entertained with music, karaoke and live mic, or enticed in to try out a range of different classes from belly dancing to children and adult’s yoga.  Nearby, you can put your dog through its paces on the agility course, watch demos and see if your pup can win one of the many dog show prizes including waggliest tail, fluffiest dog and fastest dog!

You can either bring a picnic to have on the beautiful grounds, or have a day off.  In the Food market, you’ll be spoilt for choice with BBQ, hog roast, fish and chips, teas, salad bar and ice creams of course. And we mustn’t forget the beer tent!

So with free entry and so much fun to be had, we hope to see most of Chichester there!

The Summer Garden Party at Graylingwell Park raises funds for local scout groups and CCDT’s community programmes, such as our youth work and IT training (aimed at older people in the community).
