Easter Fun for Families, Discovering Chocolate In Community Spaces

The time for fun and chocolate is almost upon us, and to celebrate Chichester Community Development Trust (CCDT) is launching a fantastic Easter Egg trail around Graylingwell Park and Keepers Green, providing clues and a map to follow, with a scavenger hunt to enjoy as you go.  Funds raised by the event will help to support the incredible work carried out by the Sussex Snowdrop Trust, caring for children with life threatening or terminal illnesses, and the community outreach programmes run by CCDT.

Aware of how hard it is to find ways to entertain the family this Easter weekend, with regulations still preventing many activities taking place, CCDT wanted to create some fun that allows families and young people to enjoy it at their own pace, and in their own space, whilst still enjoying many traditions of Easter.

The Easter egg trail will begin outside CCDT’s beautiful office in the impressive Water Tower of Graylingwell Park, where families will collect their map, instructions and scavenger hunt.  The trail will lead them to nine sites within safe walking distance around the local area, revealing a fun fact at every stop to add an intriguing twist to the event.  Once completed the children will have all that is needed to solve the word challenge and collect their well-earned egg from the Tower.

There is no need to pre-book spaces on the event, as packs can simply be bought for £4.00 each from the coffee cart (usually located at The Pavilion but temporarily moved to the Water Tower at that time whilst development work continues to transform The Pavilion into an amazing mind, body wellness space).  Parents can purchase a warming hot chocolate or locally roasted coffee from the cart for all the family, with some delicious sweet treats of their own to keep energy high as they explore the local area.  The Easter Trail is open to all families and everybody is welcome.

The trail will take families and young people around many locations where CCDT carries out community projects and work, including The Pavilion – soon to open as a mind, body wellness centre in June of this year; Graylingwell Chapel – opening as an incredible community and events space with a café, and interactive pre-school play area in early 2022; Havenstoke Park and the community garden to name just a few.  Fun facts will be revealed at each stage to ensure there is something of interest for everyone, regardless of their age.
