Hopefully, you already know of Graylingwell Chapel, The Community Hall at Roussillon Park or perhaps Havenstoke Park or another of our spaces here at Chichester CDT? These spaces have now been open from 3 years to well over 10 years. However, we often hear that Chichester locals are not aware of us or our spaces! As a charity, we work incredibly hard to ensure all the spaces we own are here for the community and local organisations. Every penny of income is reinvested to ensure these places are here for today, tomorrow and the future.
Below we’ve put some FAQ’s together that we hope will be useful.
What can I hire if we have a free group for 8 people?
Tables are available for free for non-charging events at Graylingwell Chapel, if you have more than 8 you’ll need two tables, so you’ll need to hire one at £10 an hour. If its in the evenings or weekends you can hire The Water Tower or Roussillon Community Hall for £25 an hour (Discounted rates are available for charities, voluntary groups, public sector organisations, educational institutions, and services working with CCDT residents). The learning room is also a great spot in the Chapel!
We’ve a large group looking to meet – where is suitable?
Again, the Community Hall could be perfect as takes up to 60 standing or 30 seated (tables and chairs are in the cupboards) or you can have private hire of the Chapel (making it perfect for large celebrations as well!)
What about parking? Do you have to pay?
There is good parking available, with plenty around the Pavillion and Havenstoke park if you are looking to come from central Chichester or the West. If you are approaching from the East then the access is via Aldi for the Chapel, or past the University or Rugby club for the Community Hall and Pavillion or Havenstoke Park
Parking is circa £1.40 for two hours and can be purchased on the app Sippi or paper permits can be bought from the cafés at the Chapel and the Pavilion. You can purchase a few of these at a time so you’ll have them in the car ready for your next visit). Whilst it is annoying having to pay you can rest assured that the money does get sent to CCDT so your parking is supporting the charity! (We’d love to offer it for free but aren’t allowed/able).
Can I do fitness/art/language/specialised interest classes?
If you wish to run a class we’ve a plethora of opportunities! You can get a license to do Tai Chi on the parks, book the studio for yoga, do book clubs in the Water Tower or something intergenerational in the Shed..and much, much, more!
