Building for a stronger, healthier future for Chichester community begins

Building work is underway, as of today, to develop the old Linden’s marketing suite on Havenstoke Park into a beautiful space for mind, body wellness. Created as a space for everybody to connect with, regardless of age, experience or circumstance The Pavilion, Chichester will help the community of Chichester to restore the health of their mind and body as we ease out of the challenging year behind us,  as the community can hopefully begin to re-open.

The scaffolding is going up today, managed by our lead contractors Architectural Homes, enabling work on the flat roof to be completed by Drew Smith – this back section of the building will become five therapy rooms when the centre opens early this summer. The coffee cart, that has proved such a resounding success throughout recent lockdowns will remain at the doorway, with slight variations in service through the building works, but will return in the permanent setting of the Pavilion’s café on opening. A fitness studio is also being designed that will look out across the serene setting of Havenstoke Park, providing a range of health and fitness sessions.

Whilst Chichester Community Development Trust (CCDT) is committed to bringing this dream to reality, we are continuing to fundraise to secure the funds needed to complete this project. With the need for such a resource for all members of the community so pressing with the deep impact of COVID-19 on the mental and physical health of everybody a decision was made to begin work, to break ground, immediately, consecutively developing the site as funds are sought. It is hoped that the project should be completed in June/July, should the full funding for the project be secured in time.
