Community Fridge
Helping Reduce Food Waste in Chichester
Our Community Fridge at Graylingwell Chapel helps reduce food waste by making good-quality surplus food freely available to everyone in the community.
Everyone is welcome to use the Community Fridge. Whether you’re looking to reduce food waste, save money on your shopping, or simply make use of perfectly good food that would otherwise go to waste, please feel free to visit.
The amount and variety of food available changes throughout the week depending on donations from local businesses and organisations, so every visit is different.
Opening Times
The Community Fridge is available during Graylingwell Chapel opening hours. As donation times and amounts vary, throughout the week, availability cannot be guaranteed.
Food is donated in good faith by local businesses and members of the community.
Food from the Community Fridge is accepted and consumed at your own discretion.
If you notice any food that appears unsafe or if the fridge is not operating correctly, please let a member of staff or volunteer know immediately.
UKHarvest Community Food Hub
Alongside the Community Fridge, UKHarvest operates a Community Food Hub at Graylingwell Chapel every fortnight.
The Community Food Hub redistributes surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, helping people access a wide range of affordable groceries while reducing food waste.
Everyone is welcome to attend. Visitors are invited to make a small voluntary contribution to help support UKHarvest’s work, but no one will be turned away if they are unable to contribute.
Please check our Calendar for upcoming Community Food Hub dates, as they run fortnightly.
Get Involved
If you’re a local business interested in donating surplus food or would like to volunteer with the Graylingwell Chapel’s Community Fridge, we’d love to hear from you. Please email our community coordinator.
