The Pavilion, Chichester, overlooking Havenstoke Park is developing quickly into a Mind Body Wellness space that will be open for business in June this year. Incredible speed of building and sheer enthusiasm to work from the brilliant team at Architectural Homes, directed by architect Ella Pope, is driving this project forward with huge success.
Soon to become a pop-in café, fitness studio and five wellbeing therapy rooms, The Pavilion began life as a marketing suite for Lindens in the early stages of Graylingwell Park development. In response to the widespread request for a beautiful park-side café and somewhere for residents to take care of their health CCDT undertook this development project as the building was transferred to them, and the community’s hopes are now soon to become a reality.
The interior shells of the five therapy rooms are now constructed, and the wide-open space of the fitness studio can be felt with the infrastructure of the ‘living wall’ in place that will divide the studio from the café. The living wall, to be created by a local Chichester based firm ANS Global, will house beautiful, living plants covering the majority of both sides of the wall, creating a space that celebrates nature both inside and out, forming a peaceful environment, as well as creating effective sound proofing between the rooms.
With the opening approaching rapidly the team at CCDT is working hard to secure a timetable of health and fitness classes that will suit all ages and levels of experience, ranging from pilates and yoga to tai chi and non-contact boxing training. We would love to hear from others interested in offering classes whilst some spaces remain available.
At the same time a schedule of therapy sessions are being pulled together, with local experts offering services including talking therapy; massage; reike; hearthmath and acupuncture already planned in. Similarly, therapists wanting to join the Pavilion team are encouraged to get in touch by email.
The café, that will seat 30, with further standing space, and additional seating outside on the new decking that will be expanded towards the park will serve a selection of healthyand nutritious meals, from fruit smoothies and porridge pots to lunchtime salads and freshly made soups.
