We’re excited to share some good news about the café at Graylingwell Chapel.
From 1 April 2026, Edge — a multi-award-winning local roaster and café operator with a strong social mission — will be taking over the day-to-day running of The Chapel Café.
Edge will bring their experience, locally inspired menus and delicious, expertly brewed coffee to the space, helping us build on everything people already love about the café. Their focus on quality, warmth and community makes them a natural fit for the Chapel.
The café has always been more than just somewhere to grab a drink — it’s the heart of the Chapel’s welcome. It’s where friendships start, meetings happen, and people pause for a moment in busy days. We’re delighted to be working with a team that shares our values around inclusivity, sustainability and creating spaces where everyone feels at home.
Familiar faces staying
Importantly, our wonderful existing café team members will be transferring their contracts to Edge, so you’ll still see the same friendly faces behind the counter.
We know how much they mean to so many of you, and we want to say a heartfelt thank you for their hard work and support during this transition. They’ve helped shape the atmosphere and spirit of the Chapel Café, and we’re so pleased they’ll continue to be part of its future.
What stays the same
Chichester Community Development Trust will continue to own and manage the building and lead on the community activities, events and services that take place in the Chapel. This new partnership simply helps ensure the café remains sustainable, high quality and thriving for years to come.
We’ll be sharing more details soon about refreshed menus. In the meantime, we hope you’ll join us in giving Edge and the team a warm welcome as we begin this exciting next chapter together.
See you at the café!
