The CCDT are happy to announce a partnership with UKHarvest, Higgidy and the Homestart group to provide a Christmas meal for local families in need. Homestart is a wonderful charity for families that use our spaces frequently. This Christmas, we are offering the Lodge as a venue for a well-deserved family meal, with the help of Higgidy’s delicious festive range and UKHarvest on Monday 13th of December.
Homestart Chichester and District have offered invaluable support this year to families with young, pre-school aged children. With a great network of dedicated volunteers, they have been given help when they needed it most. To top off the year, this meal is the perfect way to celebrate the Christmas festivities. CCDT are proud to host the Homestart group all year round but more than proud to host this evening of festivities.
UKHarvest is a food waste prevention charity that does vital work to make sure surplus produce gets put to good use; creating the opportunity for people in need to get the food they deserve. UKHarvest were approached by Higgidy, as they have been re-distributing some of their delicious ingredients to their network of charities this year.
‘We are excited to host this wonderful Christmas meal at the Lodge in Graylingwell. Our work linking good & nutritious food to charities that need it most, has grown exponentially this last year, and we are thrilled that Higgidy’s delicious food can be shared with the families from Homestart Chichester.’
-Liz Woodsell COO UKHarvest
Higgidy’s winter campaign is all about celebrating the good times and ensuring that this Christmas is the Christmas of all Christmases, making up for a difficult 18 months. In line with this, Higgidy want to ensure that everyone can enjoy good times this Christmas which is why they are supporting charities and community groups in the local area, providing a free festive meal to those who need it most.
“We’re all about celebrating the good times at Higgidy so we’re thrilled to be able to bring some joy to the local community with a festive feast this Christmas. UK Harvest and Homestart provide much-needed support to local families and we’re proud to be partnering with them this winter.’ – Rachel Kelley, Higgidy CEO.
UKHarvest were only too thrilled to say yes and have managed to link the families from Homestart Chichester with Higgidy to host a special meal “made for good times” at the new Graylingwell Lodge, close to The Pavilion where they have recently launched one of their new Pop-up Pantries every Friday.
This venue in the heart of Chichester is a wonderful place to bring together a brilliant local organisation who deserve a delicious meal after all they have been through with a generous food brand like Higgidy who have kindness at their core. UKHarvest have very much been the co-ordinators of this wonderful event working with the Higgidy team who will serve a three-course supper of hand finished pies, along with roast potatoes, roasted root veg with all the trimmings, as well as rolls as a starter and mince pies for dessert. All accompanied with festive decorations, music, and a whole lot of fun. A wholesome and festive event we are extremely pleased to support.
‘The CCDT are proud to be working with UKHarvest and Higgidy on this meal for the Homestart Charity. It’s a wonderful cause that we are grateful to support all year round, the help from these other partners makes it that extra bit special. We’re excited to see what the future of these partnerships will be’
