We’re excited to launch a brand-new series of Digital Confidence Workshops, in partnership with Clarion Futures, designed to help you feel more comfortable, capable, and confident in today’s digital world.
Starting on Tuesday 14th October 2025, the workshops will run for 10 weeks at Graylingwell Chapel, every week from 9am. Thanks to funding from the Clarion Futures Digital Grant, these sessions are free to attend, with no need to pre-book — just come along!
Our friendly and knowledgeable host, Ian, has extensive tech experience and a talent for simplifying the complicated. With a “no waffle” approach, he’ll guide you step by step, leaving you feeling ready to navigate the digital era with ease.
What you’ll learn:
Across 10 tech-focused sessions, you’ll cover:
- The Benefits of Being Online – Including what the end of Windows 10 means for users.
- What Is a Web Browser? – A simple explanation for beginners.
- Staying Safe Online – Essential tips for protecting yourself digitally.
- Phone Icons Explained – What those little symbols at the top of your screen actually mean.
- Email for Beginners – How to get started with email.
- Understanding Apps (Part 1) – How to find, install, and uninstall apps.
- Understanding Apps (Part 2) – Exploring banking, parking, NHS, and other useful apps.
- Introduction to Microsoft Word – The basics you need to get going.
- Introduction to Microsoft Excel – An easy start with spreadsheets.
- Open Q&A Session – Recap and ask anything you’d like help with.
There will also a special session delivered by a Clarion representative, designed to help Clarion residents make the most of the MyClarion app. (Date TBC).
These sessions are open to everyone in the community, whether you’re a complete beginner or just want to brush up on your digital skills.
