On Saturday 6th September, Graylingwell and Roussillon Park came alive for our Community Day — and what a day it was! From families joining in activities to neighbours gathering for music, food, and fun, the whole park was buzzing with laughter and community spirit. A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a special celebration.
A Big Round of Applause
We couldn’t have done it without the brilliant people who brought the day to life — from performers and practitioners to our amazing volunteers. Highlights included:
- Magical performances from Chris North, Mavis as Winnie the Witch, musician Luka, and Mica Alice Steel on the steel pans
- Dance, fitness, and music with Jigsaw Fitness, Diddi Dance, Fitjoy, and the Big Notes Choir
- Our fabulous Community Club hosts — Scilla, Ian, Erica, Chris, Coral, John & Jo
- And, of course, our superstar volunteers: Sue, Ruth, Rosa, Sheelagh, Jo & Theresa. You kept the day running smoothly — thank you!
So Much to Do, So Much to See
Every corner of Graylingwell Park had something exciting happening:
At the Pavilion, visitors got stuck into free taster sessions — from Tai Chi and Broadway Boogie to Gong Sound Baths, Breathwork, and Yoga. There was even the chance to try something new with hypnosis consultations from Phil Knox, which proved a real talking point on the day. Special thanks to our amazing practitioners for sharing their skills. In the evening, the fun carried on with live music, provided by Caccia and Tails and CCDT, from Ticklin the Pickle, party vibes with DJ Sargey, and even a taste of Las Vegas with the Glitz Fun Casino Blackjack table. For more information on sessions at The Pavilion, please go to www.thepavilionchichester.com
At The Chichester Shed, sports and youth activities took centre stage. Young people got moving with yoga from Claudia from Young People’s Shop, multi-sports with Everyone Active, and a brilliant session from Chichester Boxing Club, with the Bay Ice Cream Van keeping everyone fuelled. Remember — these free activities are open to 11–18-year-olds and are bookable via https://chichestercdt.org.uk/youth-programmes/ so why not get your young people involved?
At the Chapel and on the Green families enjoyed stalls, games, and entertainment all day long, with delicious food from Caccia and Tails and Woody’s Woodfired Pizza. Community groups and local organisations added to the buzz, sharing activities, information, and plenty of fun for all ages, including a coconut shy! Looking Ahead
Community Day 2025 showed what happens when we all come together — connection, creativity, and a whole lot of fun! We’re already planning an even bigger and better day for next year, so if you’d like to get involved (as a performer, volunteer, stallholder, or activity leader), email Rayah – community@chichestercdt.org.uk.
Thanks to everyone for being part of something truly special.
