Whether you are a long-term lover of sewing, crochet or knitting, or it is a new hobby, discovered in Lockdown, Stitch Club may be for you.
We are aiming to meet once a month to share our love of making things – both from scratch and upcycling – and have a natter. Bring along your latest project, share ideas and get to know like-minded people. There will be space to cut out material, use your sewing machine or equally bring along your latest crochet, knitting or hand sewing.
£5 a session will cover the hire of the Lodge at Keepers Green, a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of homemade cake. Also £1 of your contribution will be going to Stitches in Time, an arts and education charity in Tower Hamlets in London, initially set up in 1993 to see if sewing could start conversations between strangers.
There are plans to have a pattern, fabric and yarn swap, as well as “Stitch & Tell” bringing in interesting people to talk about their creative projects.
